Pinning

I waited until the last minute to do this assignment, even when given so much time, strictly because, like most, I could not come up with something I wanted to write about!  I gave it some thought over the last week and it finally hit me, while I was on Pinterest instead of doing school work!  Since I spend too much time on the site anyways, I thought I would use this blog to show you (my classmates) some awesome ideas I have found from the site!

For those of you that have never heard, or been on, http://pinterest.com, it is basically cork boards (that are virtual, of course) where you "pin" things you find on the internet.  You can create different boards such as food, DIY ideas, classroom, etc.  This explanation is probably really confusing if you have never heard of it, but if you visit the site you will understand more clearly. :)
WARNING: The site is EXTREMELY addicting!

Because of copyright reasons, I will not simply just post a picture or an idea on my blog, but I will refer you to other blogs from teachers that I have discovered and put a little blurb about why I like the idea.  I figured this could be beneficial to us all; gain some more resources, as well as see some cool ideas. You are more than welcome to comment about whether or not you also enjoy the idea that I share.

Of course, this plan sounds great to me...since I will be required to stay on Pinterest for even longer ;)

Anyways!  Here is an awesome blog,  http://wisewittyteacher.blogspot.com/
I would recommend looking around the blog a bit!  There are some fun ideas on there, such as "Fraction Pizzas", which the author actually discovered on Pinterest from another blogger.  One of my personal favorites is the plan book http://wisewittyteacher.blogspot.com/search/label/diy!!  If you love organization (and sticky notes) like I do, you will love this!  Planning for years to come is not something I had ever thought about, until I saw this awesome idea.  When first starting out, it would be a great way to record activities and lessons that went well and we want to use again in the future.  Once we have been teaching for a few years and have our lessons pretty figured out, this would be a great tool.  I love the idea of using the yellow stars to indicate changes.
What do you think??

I hope you enjoy my blog, and that you gain a couple resources and ideas through the rest of the semester :)

  5. Great Blog! I love the fact that you are interested in helping all of us future teachers to find great ideas for the classroom. My plate is overfilled and I am walking a tightrope right now so all the suggestions I can get for my future teaching is well appreciated. Since Pinterest is addicting I will be waiting for the semester to end to really check it out.

  8. Pinterest can be definitely addictive. It is definitely useful to design a board only about teaching and education.

  10. Pinterest is awesome! It really is very addicting. The first time I was on it, I spent three hours there. I had no idea I was on it for that long. They really do have a lot of great ideas there for just about any topic of interest.

  11. I blame you for getting me addicted to pinterest in the first place, and I wasn't surprised at all you would choose to do it on that (a little sad because it is such a great idea, and I waited even longer than you to start this project, so I couldn't use it :( haha) I loved both these ideas you pinned, I definitely am going to re-pin them both into my own education board, and hopefully once we become teachers I will be able to use them both in the classroom!
